November 1, 2014: Let the Light Shine

Have you ever just watched the sun rise? I’m not just talking about the artistry in the sky although the specular uniqueness every time should be enough alone for us to believe in God. No, I’m talking about what the Light does everywhere else. Have you ever just watched as the darkness starts to disappear? How suddenly pitch black becomes a burst of brilliant colors? Have you ever looked out and watched as the Sunlight kisses the top of the trees? Everything below is still hidden in the shadows, but the brilliant Light is coming – just wait! What about the trees closer to the rising Sun? That wonderful Light will find its way through every crack and cranny until it breaks free into the openness. Look out at an open field and watch as the Light overtakes it. It seems slow at first; but if you blink, you’ll miss the touch of the Master’s hands and will only see a once darkened field illuminated in brilliance. Study the landscape and you will notice, in spite of the Light, darkness looms everywhere. Yet, if you were to be patient and wait for the rising Sun to sink way out on the horizon, you might discover the Light comes. Maybe only for a brief moment, perhaps dimmer, and sadly many won’t even notice, but it’s there. In all things, everywhere, all the time, the Light is waiting to break through the darkness. Let the Light shine!
