February 25, 2015: Bald is Beautiful

Many women who’ve fought this war before me have spoken of their regrets. One thing I’ve heard time and time again was I wish I would have embraced being bald. I wish I would have taken more pictures when I was bald. I wish I would have been brave enough to have taken off my hat in public. I listened.

It just so happens that I know an amazing photographer in DFW. Jenny does amazing work, and I trusted her to bring the journey alive.

I love art. Urban, street art has always amazed me, so I couldn’t think of a better setting than the art district of Dallas called Deep Ellum. If you know anything about art, you know sometimes it gets messy before it looks amazing. In a mural, you probably miss most of the details that make it take your breath away. With graffiti the wild, unlawful part of it is a part of its creative beauty. That’s cancer! Its ugliness illuminates the beauty of God within mankind.

Thanks again, Jenny! (Check out her Facebook page “Jenny Lea Dutton Owens Photography”)
